In Pakistan, hundreds of people took to the streets to take part in demonstrations on Osama bin Laden. About this with reference to eyewitnesses reported Agence France-Presse.

Performances were held in the city of Quetta in western Pakistan. The protesters shouted slogans supporting bin Laden and "holy war" against the United States, as well as burning the American flag.

Presentations were organized party Jamiat-Ulema-e-Islam (Jamiat-Ulema-e-Islam), which supports the idea of ??the Taliban. According to one of the leaders of the Muslims will always remember the "merits of Osama," because "he challenged America and woke Muslims around the world."

As the organizers of the performances, the killing of bin Laden, Americans would lead to a new round of "holy war" against the United States and the emergence of a leader of al-Qaeda of thousands of new imitators.

The Taliban vowed to avenge the death of the leader of al-Qaeda Osama bin Laden, reported Agence France-Presse. "If he was a martyr, we will avenge his death and attack the government and security forces the U.S. and Pakistan," - said the agency representative of the Pakistani Taliban Ehsanulla Ehsan (Ehsanullah Ehsan).

The representative of the Taliban, adding that the first aim of the movement will be the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and representatives of the army. "America will be our second goal," - said Ehsan.

The Taliban has Pakistani origins and has had back door support from many in Pakistan since at least 2002, if not earlier. They've been waging their Jihad against the U.S. for at least 5 years, if not more, so F**K 'em if they can't take a joke (U. bin Hidin' ending up in the drink) !!!

I don't know if a country which is the sixth most populous in the world could necessarily be compared to a "little ankle biter sized dog". Combine that with India being the second...China being the first, and we've got quite the little "situation" on the horizon.

Zawahiri vows jihad in Bin Laden eulogy
CAIRO:

Ayman al-Zawahiri, al Qaeda’s long-time number two, has vowed in a video eulogy to Osama bin Laden that he will pursue his late leader’s jihad against the West, SITE Intelligence Group reported on Wednesday.

“We will pursue the jihad until we expel the invaders from Muslim lands,” he was quoted as saying in the eulogy to Bin Laden who was killed in a top-secret US raid in Abbottabad on May 2.

“The man who terrified America in his life will continue to terrify it after his death,” he added in the video message titled “The Noble Knight Dismounted,” which SITE said was posted on jihadist online forums.

Strange how quickly so many people can be convinced that democratic principles are something they hate and want to go to war agains't. I've liked the many Pakistani immigrants's I've met and worked with, and kind of took for granted that the US and Pakistan were great friends and always would be. I guess radical fundamentalism has taken hold, impresses the not too deep thinkers, and as always, is looking for someone to punish. Still, support for mass murderer Osama bin Laden? What an idiotic rallying point.

Problem is, NY Peach, there are more than a few "religious kooks" who have no concept of the walk and talk of Jesus Christ, people who are ignorant enough to let FOX Corporate Mind Control do their thinking for them, and don't "get" that corporations have funded their political party (as well as their own TV station) to influence their vote in favor of corporate interests. Never mind the common sense that lead to enlightened laws, or the concept of using their God given brains to analyze the facts, or even seek the truth. They hear the word "religion" and blindly follow. Nobody on the left supports jihadists, or whackjobs of any stripe controlling the lives of thinking people.

NYPeach if you ask me the religious kooks in our own country are a far bigger threat to our way of life that a few pissed off Muslims on the other side of the world. When Pakistan has ICBMs I may worry slightly, until then they can run their mouths all they want, India will be their primary target anyways. We may even get lucky and the Indians will solve the problem for us.

No they've just murderered a few doctors and nailbombed a few abortion clinics resulting in the maiming of innocent people - then were hidden by other so called "religious" people from the police. They are clammoring for the return of the killing and maiming of young girls and women again at the hand of backalley abortion butchers. Roe vs Wade simply gave American women a safe procedure, and freed our emergency rooms from the illegal abortion trauma we all paid for. They want to bring back a public health problem that was solved in 1973. They are also out to defund childrens health and nutrition programs - essential to the very babies they want born. Their added bonus is to take away a woman's right to control her own body (a pretty basic right) and give to the government. The poorly named "religious right" and it's candidates support the corporate power grab of the civil and Consitutional rights of American citizens, like the minimum wage, environmental standards that protect our air and water from industry pollution, the destruction of worker rights, you know, the interests of corporations in making an extra buck on the backs of the middle class. I am a Christian and don't recognize these vicious people as religious. They are mean spirited people out to punish someone, especially women, using the ugliest possible interpretation of the bible. No thanks.

Liberals and Atheists criticize, mock, make fun of, belittle Christian fanatics.....hell, they criticize, mock, make fun and belittle all Christians without fear of retribution from them. Tell me Glo...would these same liberals and atheists do the same to Muslims? I will answer that myself....NO, but hell NO. Not once have I seen liberals or atheists attack Muslims like they attack Christians. Oh sure, they try to lump all religions into one category at times but NEVER lump all muslims in with islamic terrorists. Just as not all Muslim are terrorists....not all Christians are fanatics.

Madonna mocks the Catholic faith in her concerts and no one bats an eye. Lady Gaga mocks Christianity and no one bats an eye....do any of these so called artists have the balls to do the same towards the islamic faith? No...don't offend the Muslims but everyone else is ok.

I understand your point, NY Peach, people are pretty polite when it comes to Islam. After 9/11 I asked Muslims I worked with what they thought, i.e. whether they condemned the Muslim terrorists responsible for the attack on the US. The standard response was: jihad is part of the religion that some people practice, but not all. I was pretty dissatified with that response since scriptural fundamentalism (fulfilling all aspects of scripture) is the gold standard for most people, Christian and Muslim. I expect we'll be fending off sneak attacks on innocents from those who have been radicalized forever. They're a pain in the butt, (as well as demented), to people in industrialized nations who put their energies into having a decent quality of life for themselves and their families. I feel the same way toward vicious regressives in this country who are trying to force their ugly, punitive version of Christianity down the throats of people, such as myself, who trust the word of Christ over their self serving theo/political dogma. I don't appreciate the power mad stealing the rights that I and millions of other Americans (civil rights workers, unionists, environmentalists, scientists, feminists, the foundling fathers) fought so hard to bring to all Americans. Their pretense of religious conviction is offensive.

Especially depicable are the those who are sucking from the Koch teat, getting their marching orders from greedy corporatists, while claiming to be family values Christians. Their every "position" serves their corporate masters clammor to make an extra buck, and to line their own pockets, not serve to the American people, or God.

Let the professionals take care of the foreign terrorists, while you concentrate on the American Taliban, (and their slavishly stupid minions) who want to steal the freedoms you've grown accustomed to as an American citizen. And by the way, Madonna's use of the crucifix to sell herself and her studio created "music" made me cringe. My Catholic husband explained it as her way of avenging the oppression of her Catholic upbringing. I didn't think it was cute or even original. Just a way to make a buck.

Pakistan Taliban Wants to Be Seen As Part of Global Jihad

Whether its claim of responsibility for the foiled May 1 car bombing in Times Square turns out to be valid or not, the Pakistan Taliban's threatening statements reveal its goal of wanting to be seen as part of a global jihad. Wednesday, May 05, 2010

(CNSNews.com) – Whether its claim of responsibility for the foiled May 1 car bombing in Times Square turns out to be valid or not, the Pakistan Taliban’s threatening statements reveal its goal of wanting to be seen as part of a global jihad.

The Pakistani link to the attempted attack in New York City became a little firmer Tuesday. The FBI complaint filed in Manhattan federal court said Faisal Shahzad, the suspect in custody, told agents shortly after his arrest late Monday “that he had recently received bomb-making training in Waziristan, Pakistan.”

The physics packages for high energy neutron weapons exist in present form and was deployed during the end of the Cold War and the USAF had a three stage fusion gravity bomb with a high plasma yield in the 60's that B52's could carry. No, they're killers. It's what the military does. They break things and kill enemies of the state. Here's a newsflash. Most muslims hate your guts and want you dead. Deal with it.

Right now I personally know about 20-25 Muslims, none of whom have expressed hated for me,nor have they tried to kill me.Most of these folks,by the way live in my neighborhood,so they would have ample opportunity to do whatever.

          No, they're killers.

They don't indiscriminately kill civilians in order to get the bad guys. Those are terrorist tactics and anyone who would suggest doing that would be advocating terrorism.

It will soon be a matter of survival. Any country, especially a Muslim country should know that a mass murder attack will be met with extreme force if they are responsible. PERIOD.

When the government of another country has been directly implicated in a terrorist attack against us, we have reacted appropriately. It takes a diseased mind to advocate the mass murder of civilians as being an appropriate response.

Wow, quatier is just as bad as they are. Only a sick individual would think mass murder is an appropriate response to an act of terrorism. It takes an even sicker mind to advocate the use of nuclear weapons to destroy a nation and cause extensive damage to neighboring countries who had nothing to do with it.

Also it didn't work out well the US still pays reparations to JAPAN for those WAR CRIMES. Countless Japanese today still have health issues because of those bombs, and fallout did spread, it would have been worse if Japan wasn't a Island nation,

What a load of crap. The US doesn't pay a nickel to Japan for war reparations. War crimes? Not even a good lie. Where did you get that BS from? And just who is going to retialiate? The Russians are the only ones with a substantial arsenal and they don't even know if what the have will work. The French? I'm on the floor laughing at that one. The Brits? LMFAO again. The Chinese? Not enough range and not nearly enough warheads on 1960's technology missiles. The Indians would be partying in the streets. The Paki's don't have a delivery system to reach us and their arsenal would be gone in the first 30 minutes.

Not a delivery system but a religious concept. Assembly here has its price. They have predominately fission weapons and that is a whole problem in and of itself. They don't have something like the SADM's that the US or to a lesser degree the Soviet's had.

They can still make a dirty bomb.

The Times of London in November reported that Western intelligence officials believe bin Laden's organization has acquired nuclear materials, allegedly from Pakistan. Although the Pakistani government pooh-poohed the reports and insists its nuclear program is in safe hands, it had earlier placed two of its best-known former nuclear scientists in "protective custody." One had been an outspoken supporter of the Taliban.

                        Mutilation of Japanese war dead

Main article: American mutilation of Japanese war dead

A U.S. sailor with a Japanese skull on board USS PT-341

Some Allied soldiers collected Japanese body parts. The incidence of this by American personnel occurred on "a scale large enough to concern the Allied military authorities throughout the conflict and was widely reported and commented on in the American and Japanese wartime press."[69]

The collection of Japanese body parts began quite early in the war, prompting a September 1942 order for disciplinary action against such souvenir taking.[70] Harrison concludes that, since this was the first real opportunity to take such items (the Battle of Guadalcanal), "[c]learly, the collection of body parts on a scale large enough to concern the military authorities had started as soon as the first living or dead Japanese bodies were encountered."[70]

When Japanese remains were repatriated from the Mariana Islands after the war, roughly 60 percent were missing their skulls.[71]

In a memorandum dated June 13, 1944, the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General (JAG) asserted that "such atrocious and brutal policies," in addition to being repugnant, were violations of the laws of war, and recommended the distribution to all commanders of a directive pointing out that "the maltreatment of enemy war dead was a blatant violation of the 1929 Geneva Convention on the sick and wounded, which provided that: After every engagement, the belligerent who remains in possession of the field shall take measures to search for wounded and the dead and to protect them from robbery and ill treatment."

These practises were in addition also in violation of the unwritten customary rules of land warfare and could lead to the death penalty.[72] The U.S. Navy JAG mirrored that opinion one week later, and also added that "the atrocious conduct of which some US personnel were guilty could lead to retaliation by the Japanese which would be justified under international law".[72]

[edit] Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Main article: Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

In 1963, the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the subject of a judicial review in Ryuichi Shimoda et al. v. The State.[73] The District Court of Tokyo declined to rule on the legality of nuclear weapons in general, but found that "the attacks upon Hiroshima and Nagasaki caused such severe and indiscriminate suffering that they did violate the most basic legal principles governing the conduct of war."[74] Francisco Gómez points out in an article published in the International Review of the Red Cross that, with respect to the "anti-city" or "blitz" strategy, that "in examining these events in the light of international humanitarian law, it should be borne in mind that during the Second World War there was no agreement, treaty, convention or any other instrument governing the protection of the civilian population or civilian property."[75] The possibility that attacks like the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings could be considered war crimes is one of the reasons given by John R. Bolton for the United States not agreeing to be bound by the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court[76] while he was Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, although they would not be prosecutable due to their having occurred prior to the ratification the treaty.

My bad on stating we paid reparations, that was incorrect i was thinking about something else, it no less diminishes my other very valid points.

You are clearly not up to date on current Nuclear capabilities of our Neighbors. Can you guarantee China who own's our debt hasn't made better missles by now? Heck they have stealth fighters now that match ours, they are not the same China armed with 1960s weapons that was decades ago when they still had embargos slammed on them and no one would trade. Pakistan has Soviet technology, again it would be naive to believe none of them could reach us when the soviets could easily build them to do so.

Your very same reasoning to nuke away, is going to be the same reasoning they use when they get ahold of a nuke. Hate begets Hate, death begets death. Wrong, The US fighter is operational and has been for years. The Chinese aircraft if it exists at all is at best prototype stage. The Chinese have less than 40 non MIRV'ed ICBM's and a single boomer that is not operational with non-operational SLBM's.

And BTW the winners make the rules after a war and we won. The Japanese brought their own hell down on themselves. WE determine who was the war criminal, not the losers.

Let's keep it clean no need to resort to insult throws unless your points are faltering. According to the Geneva Convention and todays war crime standards, any side can commit war crimes, just because you won doesn't give you a right to be evil to the losers, by todays standards we did in fact commit war crimes by using weapons of mass destruction to completely destroy TWO CIVILIAN cities. Spin it all you like we may not have been convicted of war crimes for WW2 , but we did in fact commit them

Right around 1970....Ayub Khan deposed....the loss of Bangla Desh....along comes Bhutto....and the crusher was Zia.....and the rest is history.

The relationship was always a bit erratic, depending on the "India Connection".

The Russian invasion, and subsequent US response, caused major problems, both ideologically, and economically, related to the refugee program, and than many resent the fact we left them to deal with the fallout.

But in reality this has been going on long before even 1970.

To some extent it is a "Liberal" problem, and before you jump on me for being partisan, it was a question of expectations raised and later dashed. We need to make another effort, which is why throwing Musharraf under the bus was a major mistake.

Another thing...the invasion of Afganistan also began the process of tipping India more towards the West, which Pakistanis saw as detrimental to their interests.

The average Pakistani is no more different than the average American. Pakistanis "hate" America and Americans hate Pakistan. And that goes for just about every other country in the world too. So what's the difference and who cares? Hell, there are a lot of Americans that hate Canada for whatever reason so to say another country "hates" this one is coming from a skewed point of view.

an American can't safely walk the streets in Pakistan, whereas a Pakistani has nothing to fear living in the US.

I don't understand why the U.S. will not drop a 500 lb. bomb in that place and get rid of these people permanently. They are the known enemy and their location is also known. Just drop it and tell Pakistan to go suck an egg if they complain. That should put them in their proper place.

Unfortunately, pakistani jihadis are not alone. They have a brotherhood, comprising islamic terrorists from across the muslim world. They have organisational and operative support from some governments too.

Perhaps it is high time that the christian world starts impose non interference on their affairs. That any country who would express sympathy on the destruction of a christian nation will get their fair share before they can act on it.

Where to drop the bomb? The place where the present demonstration is taking place and please include the headquarters of the Pakistani Intelligence.

America cannot attack Packistan. This is because China has officially warned the American government that an attack on Pakistan would be construed as an attack on China. How much you want to bet that Pakistan gave the Chinese military a good look at that secret helecopter that was scuttled during the Bin Ladin Raid before they gave it back to us.

Edit: I posted this message before I saw Water Hole's post further down about roughly the same thing.

This is the problem. Had McArthur after the Korean War had his way and was allowed to extend his lines and cross over to China, this would not even happen.

Some freaked out people these Muslims.

Jihad it is; they should at least be happy that I am not in charge over here, because if I were, there would be no Pakistan before they could even push a button and there would be no mecca as well. I am sick and tired of our government putting up with this foolishness and constantly kissing muslims a&#es.

It just goes to show the world Islam loves the idea of Bin Laden killing 3000 innocent people and that the rest of the world should also be exterminated.

This religion is the most ridiculous concept of worship ever devised and I think it is they that should either convert or face extermination.

And did you already forget that taking out one single third-world country nearly bankrupted us?

pakistani jihadis do not operate in isolation. They have a large number of supporting terrorist groups in many islamic countries, e.g. alqaeda, muslim brotherhood supported groups etc., which collaborate to plan and execute terrorist activities, albeit loosely and in a fuzzy (logic) manner, and have the ability to regroup and reform due to the fact that the underlying principles of islam, JIHAD, has enough fuel to bring in more jihadis into the fold whenever required.

A large number of these terrorist groups receive support and funding from their governments. It is a terrorism ecosystem, with functions like funding, intelligence, planning, operations etc. well greased and operating smoothly.

Without destroying this supportive network, destroying individual groups alone may not achieve the purpose.

                                                what does jihad mean anyway?

Well-- don't feel bad-- you're not the only one who doesn't know. Here's the definition from Merriam-Webster:

                                                ji·had

                                                Definition of JIHAD

1: a holy war waged on behalf of Islam as a religious duty; also: a personal struggle in devotion to Islam especially involving spiritual discipline

2: a crusade for a principle or belief

                                                From Dictionery.com:

                                                ji·had

                                                   [ji-hahd] Show IPA
                                                –noun
                                                1.
a holy war undertaken as a sacred duty by Muslims.

                                                2.
any vigorous, emotional crusade for an idea or principle
                                                .

You may find greater descriptive details about jihad and its practice down the ages, in History of Jihad

What is Jihad: The Arabic word Jihad is derived from the root word Jahada (struggle). Jihad has come to mean an offensive war to be waged by Muslims against all non-Muslims to convert them to Islam on the pain of death. Jihad is enjoined on all Muslims by the Quran.

Here are more references to help you understand about practice of jihad :

Rape is a mercy to the kafirs

                                                non-jihadi-muslims-are-kafirs-who-must-be-killed

Kafirs Must Be Thankful to The Jihadists

And if you still feel that you have not understood what jihad is, visit jihadi camps in pakistan occupied kashmir, there are over half a score of them.

You know what I think all the people of the world have in common? You get from others what you give to others. If you show kindness you usually get kindness, you give bombs you get bombs. The Muslim people are not as complicated as the west thinks.

Pakistan - not Osama - was the 9-11 Mastermind!

CNN confirmed that Lt Gen Mahmud Ahmed, the Head of Pakistan's Intelligence agency (ISI) in 2001 (at the time of 9-11), had used Omar Sayed, the slayer of Daniel Pearl, to wire $100,000 to Mohammad Atta - the leader of the 9-11 hijackers. And, at the fag end of the operation, just before the September 11, Atta wired the excess money (in thousands) back to Omar Sayed. It was further reportedthat:

"FBI's examination of the hard disk of the cellphone company Omar Sheikh had subscribed to led to the discovery of the "link" between him and the deposed chief of the Pakistani ISI, Mahmud Ahmed. And as the FBI investigators delved deep, reports surfaced with regard to the transfer of $100,000 to Mohamed Atta, one of the terrorists who flew a hijacked Boeing commercial airliner into the World Trade Center. General Mahmud Ahmed, the FBI investigators found, fully knew about the transfer of money to Atta."

The funds that Atta received from Omar were distributed to other conspirators in Florida just weeks before the attacks.
